Implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Renewable Energy and Migration – REMI is an innovative project operating at the interface of sustainable energy and refugee matters in Turkey.
REMI is implemented in Gaziantep and its surroundings in the South- East region of Turkey and in Istanbul and consists of three complementary project components: “Solar Technician Trainings for Turkish citizens and Syrians under temporary protection”, “Solar PV installations on Public buildings” and “Private sector cooperation and awareness-raising”.
The opening ceremony for the solar power plant installed on the roof of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Engelsiz Yaşam (“Barrier- Free”) Rehabilitation Centre, with the help of REMI technicians will be realised with the participation of the Mayor of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, Ms Fatma Şhin.
Following the opening ceremony, the event will continue with the “Financing Solar Projects” Panel, which is a session of the “Solar Roadshow” activity for raising awareness on solar energy in the region.
